“I often think of my favorite Maya Angelou quote, ‘People will forget what you say, they’ll forget what you did, but they’ll never forget how you made them feel,” Free said. “I think that’s so important to protect and guide when things don’t go quite the way you want them to because if you swing for a home run every time, you’re going to strike out sometimes. But you want to make sure that you not only push your team to be bold but that you’ll stand in front of them and take the hit when it’s not successful.”
